Passion!

South African born artists Just Jinger blew my mind last night!

After a long sabbatical from our shores they returned to my life with a bang... We went to the Barnyard Theatre last night for a little Sunday shimmy... I have such fond memories of them from my youth.. we all used to cloister on the sand dunes in Houtbay, Cape Town at a little beach side restaurant called "Dunes". Before they were famous and international Just Jinger used to play impromptu concerts there and we were always front row!

Having not seen them live now for a couple of years I forgot what unbelievable performers they are! Its very seldom one can say that a band is better live than on there album after being sound checked and smoothed over...

I was speechless! They absolutely took the roof off the place... everyone was standing singing every word full of heart at the top of their voices... the energy in that room was something else!

I have been to so many live gigs, but this one took the cake! I think it was the intimacy of the environment, the warmth and power of Art's voice and the chemistry between the band... I had goose bumps on every inch of my body for the entire set!

It was so unbelievably inspiring to see people with so much talent, give their heart and soul to something they are so passionate about! If I ask for nothing else in this world, its to be that good at something I just love doing!

So the challenge is on:

Carly and I have been dancing around the ‘get fit and eat healthy challenge’ for quite some time but nothing ever came off it, the occasional spinning session happened but those were few and far between. Suddenly with the world cup over, summer approaching and the cover of every magazine with a half naked, super toned women it all got a bit much.

We decided we needed help from a professional and who better than our very own VIC, he works with us. My ultimate goal to do complete a triathlon, since I was small the though of completing a triathlon has always high on my do to list. The time is now. (If all goes to plan)

It’s almost been a week of eating healthy and by this I mean, I have cut out sugar, bread, alcohol and caffeine and most importantly chocolate! We have been re-acquainted with the gym, which had been a rather bittersweet experience. None the less I will continue until the quest of the ultimate body is reached! Grrrrrrr
